My brother got married yesterday. In honor of the occasion, I'm sharing these photos, which I took while picking blackberries in late August. Once picked, I took them home and infused them in organic vodka, which became the base for a handmade cocktail I deemed the Midwest Mule. We drank the mules during my now-sister-in-law's bachelorette party. No copper mug required. This isn't so fancy. The Midwest Mule is a simple concoction of Illinois blackberry infused vodka, homemade garden basil simple syrup, ginger beer, and lime juice.
