good eats.

We have had the pleasure of sampling some affordable yet deliciously fresh fare over the past week that I’ve been dying to tell you about. My only regret is a more than slight excess of fried potatoes.
The Boiler Room - bar/pizza joint just opened up around the corner. $16 got us one large, tasty, new york style pepperoni pie. One special features a pint of PBR, a shot of Jameson (on draft!) and a slice of pizza for $7!
The Pork Shoppe - great BBQ made with locally raised meats. I highly recommend the pulled pork with tangy sauce (and make it a sammy - you’ll need the bread).
Hot Doug’s (“The Sausage Superstore and Encased Meat Emporium”) - totally worth the hour and a half wait to get in. My favorite special? Caribbean goat sausage with spicy prickly pear creme fraiche, roasted plantains, and delice du Jura cheese. Swoon! The duck fat fries were equally fantastic (and only available on fridays and saturdays). There is a reason this place always has a line around the block. I’ll definitely return some day.
